Where are MTC stations located?
MTC has multiple locations across Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and New Territories. Hong Kong Island stations include Admiralty Car Park, Pacific Place, and more. Airport/Lantau Island coverage includes Citygate and Airport. Check the app for real-time car availability at each station.
What if no car is available at my preferred station?
You have options: 1) Request a car - choose a station or street meter and MTC brings a car (soonest about an hour, subject to availability). The app shows real-time ETA and notifies you when the car arrives. 2) Check nearby stations - the app shows real-time availability at all locations. 3) Find a car nearby in the app - if one is parked close by, scan its QR code at the car to start.
Can I return the car to a different station?
Yes. You can return at any MTC station carpark or a government metered street space; it does not have to be where you picked up. At a station, park in the designated MTC bay; at a meter, pay the meter for the maximum allowed time. Then lock the car in the app and take a photo when prompted.
How do I enter/exit MTC station carparks?
No Octopus card needed at MTC station carparks! All MTC station carparks use License Plate Recognition (LPR) - simply drive in and out, the system handles it automatically. You don't need to worry about carpark entry or exit at MTC stations. Note: If parking at a non-MTC location during your trip, you will need to handle carpark entry/exit and payment yourself.
How does parking work at MTC stations?
MTC stations include both private carparks (with LPR) and public metered parking locations. For carparks: simply drive in and out, fees are automatically deducted from your deposit. For metered parking during drop-off: pay the meter for the maximum allowed time at the rate shown on the meter. You are NOT liable for parking fines issued after your meter coverage expires.
How do I return the car?
1) Drive to any MTC station or a metered street space (can be different from pickup). 2) At a station, park in the designated MTC bay; at a meter, pay for the maximum allowed time. 3) Lock the car using the app. 4) Take photo of parked car when prompted. 5) Trip ends automatically, fare calculated. 6) Security deposit released after verification period.
What condition should the car be in?
Return the car in the same condition as received. Please remove all personal items and trash. No need to clean the exterior (light dust is fine). The vehicle will be inspected and you'll receive confirmation in the app.
